Wild Siberian Chaga (Inonotus Obliquus) Mushroom Extract
Golden Magnificence provides a concentrated hot-water extract of the sclerotium of Wild Siberian Chaga, and the polysaccharide content will be between 30% to 35% depending on the batch. This is an 20:1 concentrated extract.
Chaga has a high content of polysaccharides, deeming it as one of the most powerful known adaptogens on the planet. Polysaccharides are intelligent long-chain sugar molecules, which not only give mushrooms their bitter taste, but also plug into the receptor sites of immune cells and modulate systematic functionality in our bodies.
Known in Siberia as the, “Gift from God”, in Japan as the “Diamond of the Forest” and in China as the “King of Mushrooms”. Chaga’s power draws directly on its relationship to trees, usually growing on the side of a living birch tree in cold climates and is comprised of two visually distinguishable parts: a black part (outside) and an orange part (inside). These are generally classified as the fruiting body and sclerotium, respectively. Chaga does not produce an extended fruiting body/mushroom” like that of Reishi Mushroom. Typically Chaga forms a blackish irregular shape, or sclerotial conk. The black skin/fruiting body is rich in melanin.
Chaga is a “slow growth fungus” and requires years of growth to attain a certain maturity and biological complexity. It takes about 10 – 15 years of parasitism for the mushroom to become large enough to be called Chaga. From this age on, the fungus can be used as a tonic. There have been attempts at cultivating Chaga, but the results have so far been disappointing. Attempts to culture this fungus axenically (under sterile conditions) have all resulted in a reduced production of bioactive metabolites. Thus Wild Chaga is the only way to go!

This is a hot water extract. To briefly describe the process, the raw herbs are placed in hot water until the medicinal constituents are pulled out of the raw herb body (which all have parts we cannot digest) and then through a spray drying process, it is formed into a fine powder, which can be directly added into any food or beverage of choice.
This process is beneficial for a few reasons:
No need to prepare or heat- the powdered extracts are food and drink ready
Since our herbs are extracts, they are a lot more easily digested and bioavailable
We are able to achieve high concentrations of the herb by using a certain amount of pounds of the raw herb and condensing all the medicinal constituents into one pound.
